Check-In / Check Out

You may check in from 15:00 until 21:00 (please contact us to arrange outside these hours)  The reception area is beside the café and staff are on site until 9 pm for check-ins, after this we can forward the self-check-in instructions.

Once in your room, you will find the room key. Please leave these in the room on check-out. The front door will be opened by using an access code and key.

Check-out is 11:00 am.

There is a late check-out fee of £30 per hour, this is available on request and is subject to availability. We can’t offer late checkout requests on the day as the rota will be set a minimum of 2 days before.

Payment Terms*

  • We accept Visa Credit, Mastercard Credit and most debit cards.

  • Please note: We do not accept American Express.

  • Payment is taken in full 2 days before arrival. We do not accept cash unless agreed.

  • Bank transfer will be accepted on request but we still require a card as a waiver should there be any damage.

  • Exceptions for corporate account holders. For corporate accounts please click here complete the form and return it.

  • We reserve the right to ask for identification; a passport or a driving licence. Please contact us to discuss other acceptable forms of identification. 

  • All damages will be due in full and charged at our discretion. Should other guests need to be reimbursed due to excessive disturbance this is also chargeable.

  • We require a valid credit card at check in for all bookings (not debit) for protection against liability or incidentals. The hold value is dependent on the length of stay. A credit card hold does not affect your credit card utilisation.

Internet Policy
Wireless internet is available throughout the property and is free. The WIFI password can be found in your room.

Smoking Policy
Smoking indoors is not permitted and will result in a £100 fine. The rear of our property is a residential area we also forbid smoking in this area. Please smoke on the street or in the sheltered archway to the left of the building.  

Lost keys
Due to the age of the property, our bedroom locks require a specialist to replace them. The cost is £75 for a call-out to cut a key and replace the brass vintage fobs. Please note we may ask for a refundable key deposit to ensure the safe return of keys. Lost keys may be charged to your card.


Parking Policy
We have no onsite parking. There is kerbside parking along Main Street, but it is restricted to one hour during the day and it is free between 5pm and 9am and all day Sunday.

Close by (1 min walk) is a public car off Main Street which has capacity for 54 cars see map. You can pay cash at the machine, but we recommend the parking app.

Security
We have on-site CCTV for your security both outside and in the reception corridors.

Extra Charges Policy
VAT is included. City/tourist tax is not applicable.

Pet Policy
Sorry, strictly no pets policy.

Child Policy
All children are welcome. The only rooms that can accommodate travel cots are room numbers 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 & 10.  Unfortunately, there is insufficient space in the other bedrooms. Cots are charged at £20 and include a flat sheet however we have no baby bedding - please bring your own.  We request guests please book in advance as we have a limited supply.

Group Booking Policy
If booking 4 rooms or more at Arthurs a 20% deposit will be required to secure the booking. This will be refundable if cancelled up to 30 days before the date of arrival. If cancelled after 30 days, this deposit will be non-refundable. Payment in full will be required 30 days before arrival. General Cancellation Policy
If you cancel up to 48 hours before the date of arrival (up to midday 2 days before), no fee will be charged. If cancelled later, the first night will be charged. In case of a no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. A deposit of 20% may be required on certain bookings, especially if booked far in advance, or if it is a booking for multiple rooms (see group booking policy above) or if booking for a long stay.

If a 20% deposit is requested by management, this is non-refundable, should a cancellation occur. However at management’s discretion, if it is with good advance notice and the room(s) can be resold, we may allow you to defer the date and carry forward the deposit to a different date - this will be at management's discretion. If you book through a third-party agency we cannot use discretion please always book directly via our book now button or by phone.

Exceptions to our 48-hour cancellation policy;
We may ask for a 20% non-refundable deposit and balance due in full 30 days before, for all bookings on the following dates: Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Easter, Halloween, the Balmoral show and other event dates at our discretion.

Christmas / New Year
22nd December - 1st January

We open over Christmas and New Year on a room-only basis. There is no breakfast available and limited housekeeping. We do leave additional supplies and emergency assistance is available. It is not possible to adjust the parameters on our online booking systems for this variance so we ask that enquiries and bookings be direct so that we can discuss dates and reduced prices.

During this period we operate a 14 Day cancellation policy. Payment is due, in full, 14 days before your arrival date. Bookings are non-refundable 14 days before your arrival date. Should you need to cancel in the event of an emergency we may offer a refund, or part refund, if we can resell your booking (at our discretion).
